Petro-Canada™ Lubricants' distribution network extends to over 80 countries worldwide
Sep 20, 2018
Petro-Canada Lubricants Inc. (PCLI) has announced that its CALFLO™, PETRO-THERM™, and PURITY™ FG HTF heat transfer fluids are now featured in aspenONE® Engineering software, specifically Aspen HYSYS® and Aspen Plus® modelling software, providing engineers with a broader range of solutions when designing a heat transfer system.
Aspen HYSYS and Aspen Plus by Aspen Technology, Inc. enable the optimum design to be selected for the relevant system, balancing efficiency and performance through instantaneous design modelling.
Available globally on Aspen HYSYS and Aspen Plus modelling software, version 9.0 and onwards, the PCLI product data allows for engineers to instantly model a heat exchange system and view heat calculations for each heat transfer fluid.
"The addition of Petro-Canada Lubricants’ heat transfer fluid data gives engineers a much broader selection of heat transfer fluids when designing systems and equipment. By selecting a Petro-Canada Lubricants’ fluid, heat exchanger design and process engineers gain access to a state-of-the-art thermodynamic calculations during simulation and analysis of systems and equipment with vendor approved physical property estimations," said Vikas Dhole, vice president of Engineering Product Management, AspenTech. "This will allow process engineers and heat exchange specialists to design better processes and make more accurate engineering decisions."
Tony Weatherill, vice president, Marketing and Research & Development, PCLI, added "We’re excited to be providing our heat transfer fluid data to engineers through AspenTech’s modelling software. Aspen HYSYS and Aspen Plus are powerful tools that help engineers produce optimal designs by integrating thermal and mechanical design quickly and accurately. This development complements our strong reputation in the market for high performance fluids supported by our teams of subject matter experts."
"The inclusion of our heat transfer fluids into Aspen HYSYS and Aspen Plus software is the result of several months of data validation from real fluids in service against calculated values,” said Peter Harteveld, senior technical services advisor, PCLI. “We deal extensively with engineering firms, system designers and builders that use such tools and we are excited that through AspenTech software they can more easily integrate our fluids during the design phase."
PCLI offers a line of heat transfer fluids that are formulated for liquid phase applications and in closed, non-pressurized systems, for temperatures that can range from 5°C/41°F and up to 326°C/619°F. These organic fluids offer synthetic-like heat transfer efficiency while providing the performance, environmental, and workplace health and safety needs of demanding process applications. In addition, owners/operators of heat transfer systems gain access to a state-of-the-art fluid analysis program by selecting a Petro-Canada Lubricants’ heat transfer fluid.
