James Hinchcliffe, brand ambassador for Petro-Canada Lubricants, worked his way back to a top five spot, after a tough ride at this weekend’s Honda Indy 200 race in Mid-Ohio.

Hinchcliffe started in a solid ninth position following qualifiers, but suffered a series of set-backs including a pit lane speed violation on the 90-lap race course which saw him drop to sixteenth. After racing mid-pack for two-thirds of the course, Hinchcliffe was able to gain eleven spaces to end in a respectable fifth place finishing position.

Hinchcliffe commented: "We had a really roller-coaster day, starting mid-field and ending up at the back after about mid-distance and then working our way back up to a top five. As ever, it was a strong team effort that got us there in the end. This team includes our sponsors Petro-Canada Lubricants, who continue to demonstrate unwavering support and provide inspiration to be the very best we can."

This race is the latest of strong finishes for Hinchcliffe, who made the podium in his home country, Canada, last July.

"James has had a fantastic season so far, beating heavy odds on a number of occasions to achieve a series of strong finishes," said, Howard McIntyre, vice president, lubricants. "His determination to succeed and focused approach to racing are just some of the reasons that make us proud of our ongoing partnership with James, who embodies so many of our shared values."

Off the track, Chuck Stevens, national account manager, Petro-Canada America Lubricants, treated customers to a garage tour and a private meet and greet with James Hinchcliffe prior to the race.

The next Verizon IndyCar race will be held at the Pocono Raceway. The ABC Supply Company 500 will take place on Sunday, August 21st at 3:00 p.m. ET.
