Petro-Canada Lubricants (PCLI) driver James Hinchcliffe and his Schmidt Peterson Motorsports (SPM) teammate Robert Wickens captured top-five finishes in front of a hometown crowd in Toronto for the 2018 Honda Indy Toronto. Hinchcliffe clinched a fourth-place finish on the 1.786-mile temporary street course with fellow countryman Wickens scoring a podium on his first visit to the circuit.

"The Arrow Electronics car was pretty great, and in that last stint, we were chasing down the leaders. Who knows what could have been, but ultimately happy with Robbie being on the podium, and two SPM cars in the top five."
Robert Wickens
No. 6 Lucas Oil Schmidt Peterson Motorsports Honda
"I can’t thank these Toronto fans enough. I mean this whole week has been such a whirlwind of emotions, and to stand on the podium in my first professional hometown race, I couldn’t ask for anything better."
The SPM teammates started the race together in the fifth row with Hinchcliffe in 9th and Wickens in 10th. The teammates and friends battled at the start and remained in the top 10 before pit stops cycled them to the middle of the pack.
After consistent and smooth work in the pits for both crews, the duo was able to come home in the top five.
PCLI is a team partner of SPM and the official lubricant of the Honda Indy Toronto. As a Canadian brand headquartered in Mississauga, ON, PCLI is proud to support the hometown race.
With the Honda Indy Toronto in the books, the SPM team looks ahead to the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course with Wickens testing at the permanent road course in Lexington, OH this Tuesday. The pair will race at the 2.258-mile circuit on Sunday, July 29.
