Petro-Canada™ Lubricants' distribution network extends to over 80 countries worldwide

Petro-Canada Lubricants Inc. (PCLI) has launched its SUPREME Synthetic 0W-16 motor oil which meets the needs of newer engines to support improved fuel economy and reduce carbon emissions.
Suitable for gasoline engines requiring an SAE 0W-16 grade oil that is API licensed, this new addition to the SUPREME product line is ideal for the vehicles coming onto the market that recommend this viscosity grade.
Meeting the latest API SN Plus, SN Resource Conserving and SN standards, SUPREME Synthetic motor oils deliver exceptional resistance to thermal breakdown and outstanding low temperature fluidity, as well as superior protection against engine wear and deposit formation. This is achieved by combining leading-edge additive technology with some of the world’s purest base oils refined in Petro-Canada Lubricants’ HT Purity Process.
Providing enhanced protection to support a long engine life, SUPREME Synthetic 0W-16 motor oil also helps prevent harmful damage caused by engine ‘knocking’ from Low Speed Pre-Ignition (LSPI) events in gasoline direct-injection engines, including those with turbochargers. A concerning noise for vehicle owners, engine knocking can be an indication of an abnormal combustion event, where the fuel-air mixture ignites at the wrong time in the cycle, leading to accelerated engine wear or even complete engine failure. Using a lubricant with leading-edge additive technology is the best defense against this phenomenon.
"We’re excited to be launching the latest premium oil to the SUPREME product line, which offers vehicle owners additional fuel economy savings when compared to oils with a higher viscosity, such as 0W-20 or 5W-30," said Tony Weatherill, vice president, Global Marketing, Research & Development, PCLI. "With no compromise on engine protection or the oil’s ability to operate in some of the toughest conditions, the SUPREME Synthetic 0W-16 motor oil meets the most stringent specifications for the leading car manufacturers’ latest engines."
Petro-Canada Lubricants also recently launched its API SN Plus awareness campaign, Expect More, to educate the industry on the additional protection API SN Plus provides and how the SUPREME premium passenger car motor oils deliver on the standard. Offering clear and concise information on how API SN Plus differs to existing requirements, the technology behind it and the impact for car manufacturers globally, Petro-Canada Lubricants has published a comprehensive guide to the category on its website.
