San Giuseppe Agroenergia is one of the plants owned by Bietifin and in early 2016, its Jenbacher Type 3 ECOMAX 6 – JK720 – 635 kW engine required an oil change on average every 1,690 hours. Biotre Energy,another of Bietifin’s plants, used a Jenbacher Type 3 ECOMAX 10 – JN897 – 1 MW and needed an oil change every 2,000 hours or less.

Two of the company’s biggest plants, San Giuseppe Agroenergia and Biotre Energy, both extended drain intervals to beyond 3,000 hours, an increase of over 50%.

Such gains were beyond the expectation of operators at Bietifin’s plants, which has led the company to explore the use of the product throughout its 200-plant portfolio, as they operate under the same severe conditions.
