Petro-Canada Lubricants Celebrates New STLE President

Petro-Canada Lubricants, a HollyFrontier business, is pleased to announce that Paul Hetherington, manager, Technical Services Sales – Canada, has begun his one-year term as the president of the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers (STLE).


In his new role as the Society’s president, Paul will lead STLE professionals and volunteers to deliver a strategic plan that champions education, innovation and global advocacy. STLE is the premier technical society within the industry, supporting members who research, develop and market the methods and products that make industry successful through a variety of professional education and certification programs.


During his term, Paul will preside over the Society which represents more than 13,000 individuals and 250 companies and organizations that comprise the global tribology and lubrication engineering business sector. He will represent the Society at industry events and meetings to share the positive impact that lubricants have in all types of applications across the world.

Paul has held several positions within STLE since he joined the society in 1990. He joined the Board of Directors in 2007 and in 2017 became a member of the Society’s Executive Committee, serving one-year teams as treasurer, secretary and vice-president. Paul has held STLE CLS certification since 1994.
